The financial impact of tort lawsuits on Texas households cost $38 billion in 2022, according to a new report by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The report cites tort costs ranging from expenses associated with litigation, to compensation paid to claimants, and administrative costs to process claims as examples of costs impacting Texans and the state economy.
