AUSTIN, TX – The Lone Star Economic Alliance (LSEA), a coalition of 1,150 Texas job creators, individuals, and business associations from every corner of the state, today announced the launch of a six-figure multimedia advertising campaign in strong support of Senate Bill 30 — a critical lawsuit reform measure currently under consideration in the Texas Legislature.
The campaign includes prominent billboard placements in high-traffic areas, including Austin-Round Rock-Georgetown, Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington, Bastrop, Garfield, and New Braunfels — with additional locations expected. Digital ads are also running across high-traffic websites, social media platforms, Connected TV and other digital outlets.
“Texans deserve a legal system that’s fair, transparent, and focused on justice — not one that rewards manipulation and abuse,” said a Lone Star Economic Alliance spokesperson. “Senate Bill 30 will bring balance back to the courtroom, protect small businesses, and reduce inflated costs that ultimately burden all Texans.”
SB 30 takes meaningful steps to:
-
- Encourage doctors to treat accident victims;
-
- Stop the manipulation and wrongful inflation of medical damages by certain personal injury lawyers and their collaborative healthcare providers;
-
- Help jurors make informed decisions by establishing clear standards and definitions for noneconomic damages.
- Help jurors make informed decisions by establishing clear standards and definitions for noneconomic damages.
The campaign launch follows a recent Senate State Affairs Committee hearing, where witness after witness testified to the harmful, systemic tactics used by certain personal injury attorneys — tactics that lead to the purposeful overtreatment and overbilling by the lawyers’ network of healthcare providers. The inflated medical damages, in turn, encourage higher, unjustified awards for noneconomic damages, such as mental anguish.
As a result, Texas now has the unwelcome reputation of being the state with the greatest number of nuclear verdicts, threatening Texas’s standing as the best state in the nation in which to do business, create jobs, and innovate.
Senate Bill 30 is among Lt. Governor Dan Patrick’s Priority Bills for the 2025 Legislative Session. Learn more about the issue here: www.lseatx.com/the-issue/
